Jean Deferrari has been teaching personal training since 1996 and Pilates since 2001. She opened her first personal training studio in Palm Harbor. Jean was an avid weight lifter, kickboxing instructor and fitness competitor for many years and was led to Pilates because of a sacroiliac joint injury, back pain and neck pain. She found that Pilates was the only form of exercise she could practice without re-injury. Inspired by the precision and control of Pilates, Jean decided to become a Pilates instructor. She earned her first Pilates certification in 2001 and holds a Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Studio Practitioner diploma.
Today, Jean is passionate about teaching her clients how to exercise pain free and fix musculoskeletal imbalances through Pilates and therapeutic exercise. Jean's specialties and interests are Pilates for back pain, spinal pathologies, osteoporosis, scoliosis, and Pilates for older adults, 65+. Her favorite clients to work with are persons who want to slow down their movement and learn how to exercise with precision, control and mindful movement. Jean teaches her clients how to connect their breath to their movement. She believes that most persons can benefit from a Pilates exercise program that provides a lasting sense of calm and well-being that is invaluable in today's society.
If you have questions or concerns about starting Pilates Jean offers new clients a free 15 min. phone consultation.
