If you're interested in personal training, then private, 1-on-1 Pilates is for you, or you can bring a friend or spouse and take partner sessions. Private sessions are also recommended for persons with back pathologies, injuries and anyone who has been recently released from a physical therapy setting and are ready to begin post rehabilitative Pilates. Our specialty "Align the Spine" small group training classes are great for persons with osteoporosis and back pathologies who want to avoid bone fractures and injuries while taking Pilates classes under the guidance and watchful eye of an experienced Pilates instructor.
For best results and with most exercise programs, you'll want to take Pilates two to three times per week. You'll still get results even with just one Pilates session per week as long as you are patient and you practice your Pilates exercises at home most days of the week. After you complete your New Client Initial Private Pilates Session we will be able to give you an idea of what your personal Pilates program would be like including the time, number of sessions and cost.
Wear comfortable clothes such as a tank top or T-shirt with long shorts, bike shorts or leggings. We suggest that men wear compression shorts under their gym shorts. You want to avoid wearing clothing with zippers, belts, buttons or belts. Shoes are not worn in Pilates, so please wear socks with grippers on the bottom, or go barefoot in class. Be sure to have clean bodies and clean feet, free of lotions, perfumes and cologne.
Yes. Pilates can be safe exercise for persons with injuries as long as you are taught Pilates by an instructor who is knowledgeable and experienced to work with persons with your condition. We will give you a phone consultation first before you schedule your Initial Private session. Tell us what your pathology or diagnosis is and it's helpful if you bring in your written medical report with your diagnosis. If you are in pain during exercise, we will refer you out to a physical therapist for a diagnosis.
Private sessions require a 24 Hour's Notice and Group Classes require a 12 hour cancellation notice to avoid being charged for a class.
