Pilates for Better Bones and Balance Classes

These classes are beginner level exercise classes for persons with osteoporosis, osteopenia and at risk for fractures.  Focus is on balance exercises, improving posture and strength, fall prevention and nutrition prevention. Preventing Injury and Moving Safely With Osteopenia or Osteoporosis
If you have low bone density and an increased risk of fractures, it is important that you take precautions during exercise and everyday activities to reduce the chance of  injury.  Many exercises can 
improve strength, balance and flexibility. However, certain positions may not be safe for people with osteopenia , osteoporosis or those at increased risk of broken bones.  For example, exercises that have you bend forward may increase the chance of breaking a bone in the spine.
